For those in the athletic department who are working with the TV partners, please work something out so this game will be kept on Saturday, Sept. 29.

I want them to do whatever is in the best interest of the school. If it is moved, it is because we are playing on national television. If it doesn't get moved we are going to be on some backwater channel like cbs college sports.

I'd much rather play TCU on a Thurs night on ESPN and show off a packed house on national tv then on CBS Sports TV or whatever lamebrain channel we're on a Saturday.
I don't think our primary objective in scheduling should be accommodating Mitch

National TV every time. Mitch not so much.

Uh, unless the TV we're moving it for blows. Moving it to get on ESPN? Okay. Moving it to get on CBS Sports? [deleted] that.
In fact, we shouldn't ever move any games for CBS Sports. I don't get it, my friends don't get it, the bars I go to don't get it. For CBS, the deal should be take it or leave it.

And certainly do not move to Friday night and squash a great night of high school football.

I think it is going to be on Fox Sports.

Since CUSA is not an ESPN conference-it won't be on ESPN because SMU will be the home team and controls TV rights

Thursday is fine. Friday would stink because of high school football. But whatever happens happens.
I just think it being on a Saturday adds to the atmosphere around it.

High school football? Seriously?
It's mildly interesting if you know someone on the team, but if there's an SMU game being played, it's not even a blip on the radar.
If we play TCU at 3 AM on a Tuesday, I'm there.

But what if you're out of town and miss the last flight and there's no point renting a car because the drive is too far?
And wouldn't the University Park officials have a problem with the lights and PA system being on at that hour?
And don't you think the TV partners wouldn't want to televise it that late because they know they won't get great ratings and the major advertisers would get ticked off?

The last time we played TCU on a Friday, it was a sellout (SRO in fact) and we got national media attention. Therefore, I have no problem with a Friday game. Would prefer Thursday or Saturday, though.
For Mitch, SRO = opposite of empty

Since I live close I was hoping to 'tailgate' at my house then head over to the game on Sat. Would be harder to do on Friday. Just trying to keep frogs off your Blvd. I hope they don't screw me again...

The 2010 game was played at Ford and was on ESPN. As far as I know there is no reason this year's game can't be on ESPN also.

except for the fact that CUSA had an ESPN Contract in 2010-none of home games are going to be on ESPN
