I know this is not directly SMU related but Ya, Andre Ware called the Cougars move to the Big East a mistake. He says they are chasing the money and BCS status while having an increase in travel money.

He must not understand math:
-- the increase in travel vs. CUSA = + $500,000
-- the increase in revenue in BEast vs. CUSA = + $8,000,000

There is thoughts that ESPN scripted him to say this, and for those conspiracy people, to try and downgrade the value of the nBE in revenge for not accepting the tv contract last year.

I would think 90% of what they say is run through and editor except during live broadcasts.

Yes. At least. Ignore.
Get together 20 percent of mid major endowments and buy ESPN

I thought you were going to tell us he had a year of eligibility left and the 40 year old was replacing the 30 year old.

You have to remember that ESPN is "show business."

The ACC's Dan Swafford, commissioner went on and on this AM talking about the 5 big conferences (omitting the BE) and how the Four Team playoff should only consider conference champions or at least make it one of the major considerations. Despite the Big East's record compared to the ACC, no one including Ware even challenged his claims that the BE should be dropped and the ACC included.
I would be in favor of four major bowls, the six conference champs and the next best two--even from the same conference. Then a two game play-in to the championship game.

I think it is either the Big 4 or the Big 6, but definitely not the Big 5.
1. SEC
2. Big XII/Big Ten
4. Pac 12
5. Big East/ACC
7. CUSA/MWC
9. MAC
10. SBC
