Trying to get back in town for TCU game and need to know which flight to book. In the past, how far out did they release kickoff times? I dug into the SMU archives and saw they announced the TCU game date change on August 1st of last year, but no announcements on kickoff times.

Can and do change up to ten days before kickoff to accommodate tv coverage.

Even if they release the times, be careful with the TCU and A&M games. Both are prime candidates to get moved to Thursday night.

BTW - I am in the same boat. I am planning on flying in on Thursday for the TCU game and to visit my parents and sister.

BTW - I am in the same boat. I am planning on flying in on Thursday for the TCU game and to visit my parents and sister.

I would normally be afraid the TCU game would be a candidate to move time/date slots, but it's parent's weekend, so I'm pretty sure that thing is happening Saturday. I'm also fairly confident the time, 7pm (which the parent's weekend website is reporting) will stick because of all the activities they've planned form parent's weekend, but I can also see it moved to 11am or 2pm. My gut is this is the spotlight game on Fox Sports for that day, which is typically in the evening.

Conferences approve all schedules, even non-conference games (I think -- something about balancing TV opportunities, etc.), and the schedule still has to go through compliance, doesn't it? I would guess it will be mid-summer, at best, before times are released.

But as stated above, the times are not finalized until 10 days before the game. Makes it tough for we out of towners.

I sure hope they don't get moved to Thursday...you can count me out if that happens

Last time we played TCU on Parents Weekend, the game got moved to Friday

Yeah, I'm sure that will be a huge factor in the decision.

I think I remember receiving something from SMU about Parents' Weekend 2012 where they warned us that there is a possibility that the TCU football game might get moved, even to Thursday, and to plan accordingly when making flight/hotel reservations. So the possibility exists for the game to be moved.

Guess I'll have to tell the wif that I have a hall pass Thurs - Sunday on those weekends.

It's SMU's advantage if the game is moved up. We have an open date before the TCU game, and they play Virginia. It would help OUR team if the game is moved up.
