Sorry if these were answered fifteen minutes ago, or three weeks for that matter.

Is GG in Dallas, on campus, enrolled, participating in some sort of summer work outs or what?

If none of the above, when does the applicable rule permit him to do so?

When can we expect to seea 2012 roster in SMUMustangs?

Yes Gilbert is on campus. I believe he is participating w/ the receivers doing 7 on 7.

I bet there will be a 2012 roster released around the same time that twoadays start.

The word is that GG has excellent accuracy, but Conner Preston throws the ball harder

I watched the end of the Houston v. Texas Tech game on the Big East board. Keenum ran very effectively in Houston's final 95 yard drive to win the game. I hope Phillips institutes some QB run plays in this year's offense. I think both GG and CP run pretty well. It would be nice and exciting to have that option. If CP beats out GG, then I think he is ready and able to lead us.

If CP beats out GG, then friends, you've got trouble and I mean trouble right here in River City.

Gilbert will beat out Preston. In the great interview by PP Gilbert said he isn't at 100% velocity but that he's been throwing pain-free for about two months now. By the time the team comes together to start practicing he'll be completely healthy.

Having watched a few practices I don't feel good about any of the QB's outside of Gilbert. Preston is maybe 5-11 (no way is he 6 foot tall) probably 5-10. Kaiser couldn't have started for the Fiji intramural team, and actually the most impressive was the walk-on from San Diego, He had good size and had a good bit of zip on his passes.

Its totally GG's job. We should be very very thankful he decided to come here. A 5 star QB that has the experience of playing in the national title game for one of the marquee programs in the country. Things didn't work out at Texas but the 'Horns have had a real difficult time finding anyone there that can play QB. I think Garrett will thrive here at SMU.

You need to stop being so positive.

Ha! I'm positive about the 2012 team. We have experience, talent, and our toughest games are at Ford. After this season though our lean recruiting could bite us. But I'm trying to think micro for this season. Too many unknowns moving forward.

Preston will be our next QB transfer, he won't even beat out Garrett Krstich for the backup job.

I agree. Based on what I saw Krstich had good arm strength, size, and made the right decision more frequently than Preston. That said, none of them were very impressive.

Looking forward to two years of Gilbert.

In the Spring open practice Krstich was the better QB. Needs to be living in the gym this Summer.
