Who is most likely to get playing time this year?

In my opinion, only 1 has a chance to make a significant impact.
Longoria is a freak. If putting pads on doesn't change anything, he is going to be in the top 2 or 3 punters in the conference.
GD is a pretty big kid who has some skill but I dont see him jumping Holleman, Holman, or Thompson.

with JJ's offense, you just HAVE to have a great punter - because we have a bunch of three and out's. leaving short fields for the other team gets you beat quick if you are a run and shoot. The field position is worth a game or two a year.

What about Seaver and Dieter? I wouldn't think they can start, but they may well get into games this season.

I like Lagasse and his versatility.

I like Lagasse a lot, too, but there are loads of WRs on the roster, and I can't see a freshman getting playing time.
My guess would be Sam Rice as a backup center or guard, but even that would be only in the event of injury.
Apart from that, maybe one or two of the really fast linebackers like Jarvis Pruitt or Lincoln Richard will be a player on special teams, but I can't see a lot of playing time on defense, barring a rash of injuries that cuts two- or three-deep on the depth chart. Or maybe Shakiel Randolph -- if he really comes on in a hurry and picks up the defense fast, there aren't many (any?) 6'4" safeties out there, and he could present some interesting options for the coaches.

I love this question because we have some studs coming in and many of them COULD be redshirted. When I was at SMU, these guys would have started immediately (well, they wouldn't have come here in the first place but that's a different story).
Look at the DEPTH we have now. It's amazing.
Here are the studs who have the potential to be much better at their positions than anyone we have now (and we've got some good ones):
- Daijuan Stewart
- Deiter
- Longoria
- Burcham
- Line 2.0
- Lincoln Richard
- Seaver
- Christian Holloway
- Briggs (very underrated)
- Nick Reed
- Lagasse
It's amazing. Very few, if any, on this list will even see the field this year but I foresee many of them, barring significant injuries, being draft picks in 4-5 years.
Incredible.
Now, Beat Baylor!!

Speaking of Deiter, I know the young man has great hands and can catch anything close to him, but after hurting his knee how is his speed ?

Interesting, and I hope you're right about every one of them.
What do you base your choices on?
