It appears one whack job group just out whack jobbed another whack job group. Talk about denial!

The amount of statements they have released has been a bit absurd.

Just because their attorney hasn't been able to interview certain folks doesn't make the numerous reports that Joe Pa knew about it go away. Defending their dead father's legacy is essentially going to haunt them for a very long time.

I wonder if the paterno family investigation includes a ouija board.

Family is family and you have to expect them to defend their late father. More details will come out, but it certainly appears Joe Pa's ego got in the way of his exercising good judgment. My guess is that the combination of his ego (wanting to become the all-time winningest coach) and his (blind) loyalty to Sandusky is what got this thing started. Had Joe Pa not passed, he may well have become another on the list of those facing criminal charges. This thing is going to take years to play out. Will be very difficult for PSU or the Paterno family to move on from this.

Joe Pa's family got a sweet deal. PSU said 'a contract is a contract" and wouldn't change the Paterno family very generous perks. But for the Sandusky’s family the 'contact is a contract' was nullified. If they could reduce Sandusky' family contract they could do it for Paterno's family contract as well. The Paterno family keeps digging their own grave. Shut up already. Because outside Happy Valley, no one is believing your spin.

They would better serve themselves and all of us if they would just shut their mouths.

Is Joe Pa's death a bit puzzling? I mean was this guy even sick with what killed him before the Sandusky scandal broke? I realize Joe Pa was an old man, but jezzz that dude went down like a ton of bricks. It was like he was coaching in Nov and is dead in Jan. I suppose some cancers just race you into the grave, but I just wonder if he would have died that quick had no scandal hit the fan? Not that it really matters....

My mom had pancreatic cancer; it took a grand total of one month from diagnosis to death in her case and it was horrific to watch. Apparently he had been fighting lung cancer for a while (it was in remission for a while), but you seem to be implying that he somehow expedited his departure from this world due to the scandal and I just don't think that is the case. When cancer decides you're done, you're done. That said, I'm sure the weight of everything crashing down on him probably zapped any fight he had left in him.
