Not bad for a guy who walked on at SMU and largely taught himself to be a great punter and worked like a madman to be a big, strong athlete.
Good things happening to a really good guy.

Well-deserved and I will never forget that onside kick in the Super Bowl.

I was just thinking the same thing. Absolute greatness.

I'm old enough to remember losing my mind when the Yankees signed Dave Winfield to a 25-year, $25 million contract. Now we're talking about this kind of money for a punter?
Couldn't happen to a better guy -- known in New Orleans as LEGATRON.

Just last year (Michael Koenen with the Bucs, 6 years 19 million dollars), in fact I'm sure Morestead's agent used that as a baseline for negotiations.

Sure he does. But Morstead improved a lot before Coach Gansz arrived, partly because he spent a ton of time working out on his own, punting balls up and down the field and tweaking his steps, the way he dropped the ball, etc.

gotcha.
I think Bennett deserves the most credit, though, for giving him so many in-game opportunities to showcase his talents.

Should've employed a swinging gate punt.

And Doug Flutie for teaching him the rugby drop kick.
