Great article with good points and a positive spin. Positive spin needs to be job one of the new commissioner. I'm tired of just seeing spin on the Big East Board, we need to see it nationally. I am pumped for the NBE as everyone on this board should. We all know the negatives (after all, several posters keep spouting them ad nauseum), but what we should be expressing are the positives. This will be a FUN football league to watch.

I thought I saw that the NBE teams records vs ACC are very much in the NBE's favor. I'd heavily use that in promotionals. Does anyone have that data?

Lots of stats on the Big East ncaabbs board. NBE well ahead of ACC in many categories EXCEPT a big one - ATTENDANCE. Maybe UCF and SDSU will help with that. I don't see ours going up too much over this year with the NBE teams being so far away.

SDSU is going to get very little help from visiting teams. Wouldn't count on them.

You're right about NBE teams, that's why I see the NBE staying at 8 conference games, providing the ability to schedule more local Cal. teams like UCLA, USC, Fresno and even the Arizona/Utah boys, like we do here in Texas with Big 12, UTEP and North Texas. If they can pull that off I see their attendance and fandom going up. Due to professional competition, SMU, UH and SDSU have trouble getting the casual fans.

All good points. I still want Air Force or, more attractively, BYU to build on BE national brand. That is why Navy was such a good add. Memphis added to our appealing markets too. If Notre Dame commits to 4 games within the conference, then NBC is the natural network for the NBE.

Also, BB and LAX (we need to be the first Div. I team in Texas) help with the national branding, so make sure our non-revenue get exposure and are part of a network deal. From the Big East to Florida to Texas to the West, embrace the East.

We better be ready. Sounds like this is what we're looking for!
