Looking at the ponies 2012 schedule, I see us going 8-4 and making our 4th straight bowl game. Thank you Coach June Jones!
Your thoughts.

14-0. It’s too early to concede any victories.

Wish we would go after a couple of Oline sophs or juniors from Penn State. After all we will be playing up in that area once or twice in 2013. That would certainly cement my hopes for 10-2. Reality tells me 8-4.

At this point in the season rationality is out the window. 14-0 Orange Bowl Champion (it is easier for me to get than the other BCS Bowls).

No way, man ... Rose Bowl!! My wet dream is to see my Mustangs play for a national championship at the Rose Bowl (I live about an hour and a half from it). If that happens, I can die and be at peace.

In all seriousness, I'm thinking 8-4 is realistic although I obviously think we can run the table. Baylor and aTm will be tough. We beat TCU - that's a given. The other loss is UofH (have we EVER beaten those fockers in the last 20 years?!?). So, I say we lose those 3 and have a letdown somewhere else (Tulsa? SoMiss?). The loss to UofH MIGHT keep us out of the CUSA championship game, but we'll see.
I hope I'm wrong and we end up 10-2 or better.
This team definitely has the potential to win CUSA and finish top 25 and get in a bigger "name" bowl game. That's my expectation.

I'm going to say optimistically 9-3 and then I'm expecting no worse than 7-5. I'm hoping that we can come away from our non-conference games at 2-2. I think we do benefit in our conference games in looking at how so many of the good C-USA teams over that last couple years are going through coaching changes and QB changes. Just look at Houston and Southern Miss. However, based on our past we occasionally tend to play down to our competition and give away a game or 2 like Navy last year and Houston back in 2010.

We beat UofH in 2005 down in Houston. Curious as to why beating TCU is a "given" based on the last 10-15 years worth of games.

Not often you hear someone say they gave away a game when losing by 25.

What you are saying is that we will go:
5-0 vs. Teams ranked worse than 100 (SFA-1aa, at UTep, at Tulane, at Rice, and Memphis)
3-4 vs Teams ranked 22 - 58, with us being ranked 46 (sports.yahoo.com), 4 of which are ranked lower than us (Tulsa, at UCF, Hou, at Baylor - all have new QBs) and all the higher ranked teams being home games (aTm 32, TCU 22, S Miss 42).
Early on:
at Baylor (new old QB, who knows early? Ranked 58. Lost RGIII and Terrance Ganaway)
TCU plays UVa, while we have a bye the week before. They are losing some key players en masse...grades/drugs?
aTM gets pounded by Florida the week before.

I understand we lost by 25, but the reason I say we gave the game away is that they were down to a third string true freshmen quarterback, they had just lost to Rice. Not to mention we had 3 turnovers on the day and gave up a huge kick return for a TD again this was to a team the finished 5-7 with Piland at QB. I felt we had no business losing to them.

7-5 or 6-6 depending on injury situation. Still not much depth at some spots.
