AR may benefit from Skins QB situation

The Redskins QB situation has made it imperative that players be able to play a regular position as well as special teams. It appears with the drafting of both RGIII and Cousins, the Skins need to keep a third experienced QB (Rex Grossman) in case of injuries on the final roster. Thus, wide-outs, linebackers, DB's and running backs may need to contribute at tight end. Add in the cap hit the Redskins had and now two OL injured in the first week of camp, Aldrick has improved odds against guys like Santana Moss or Brandon Banks. He'll still have to show something in pre-season, but he'll get some hard looks from the coaches. They'd love to keep him and his lower salary and versatility if he can show it on the field.

Hopefully they'll actually throw the ball his way this year during the preseason. Last year, he muffed a couple of punts and didn't get the ball thrown his way almost at all for the rest of the preseason.

Banks is listed at 5-7 and ... 153? He makes Al look like Shaquille O'Neal.
