TCU lost too much in the offseason to be rated that high. If they hadn't lost 8-9 players scheduled to at least contribute then maybe. They should have a great QB, outstanding receiving corp and strong running game but that defense had a lot of guts ripped out

TCU will be our highest ranked OOC opponent. Baylor and the aggies didn't make the top 25. Let's beat those frogs and ruin their year. 8)

A$M and BU received votes. So too did Houston, USM and UCF. Also getting 10 votes was LaTech. We got nothing.

Guess that makes us decidedly the underdogs...huh? TCU still the highest ranked OOC opponent...therefore the biggest game.

This.

My gut says that at the end of the season, the final rankings will have A&M ranked higher, and that's after they go through the SEC gauntlet.

TCU is not the biggest game. The biggest game is either the next game on the schedule, meaning Baylor, or someone in our conference. It would be nice to beat Froggy High, but it's not the biggest game.

Of course, we're their Super Bowl. Patterson has been festering about SMU since we beat them on their field last year.

They're more talented, I guess, but it sure would be nice to beat them again and then talk about the game as "just another game ... time to focus on the important part of our schedule."

TCU is ranked that high because they have a damn good QB. When you pair that with GP's defense, they will be very good.

You are correct. I made that statement in sort of a reference to another thread asking which game was bigger, TCU or A&M. I should have said it was a bigger game than the A&M game because TCU is ranked higher than A&M. I did limit my statement by referencing them as an OOC opponent.

I completely disagree that A&M is a bigger game than TCU. TCU is our biggest rival, we play them every year, and they are ranked. A&M is unranked and we've played them maybe three time since the mid 90s?? Go back to last year, if we'd beat A&M and lost to TCU it would have been nice to beat A&M but we lost to our hated rival. Instead, we beat TCU and I haven't thought twice about the loss to A&M. It's a no brainer to me.

The secondary was what really held them back last year, and that will be much stronger this season.

What they lost defensively was d-line and LB, and GP has shown that he can replace those guys at will.

If aTm beat Florida they will jump TCU in the polls.

They lost 2 LBs that they thought would be All-Conference caliber eventually plus a starting SS and DLM. Right down the gut of the defense. If Patterson can replace those unexpected losses then he is Coach of the Year. On Offense they are going to be tough. Great WRs, QB and quality RBs

How?? You're saying that if an unranked A&M beats #23 Florida then A&M will jump #17 TCU. Please explain that logic...

Who cares!! Polls out this early mean nothing.

Biggest game of the year is A&M, hands down. Yes, TCU is our hated rival and everyone loves to [deleted] on a Baptist's parade while drinking and dancing. But A&M is now in the SEC. Beating any SEC team is a monster highlight on your record. Of course all of this means you have to take care of business during conference time, otherwise we could beat BU, TCU and A&M end the season 3-9 and no one will care.

No way A&M beats the Gators.

Breaking in new WRs, QB against Florida's unreal front 7.

Muschamp will have those guys ready to blow A&M out.
