I agree. I have full confidence in the talent of guys like McJunkin, Gottschalk, Free and even Lowe, I think, but I do fear that it will take a few games before they really gel as a unit. I'm betting that the offensive line we roll out early in the C-USA games won't even resemble the line that goes to Waco. That's not to say we'll be playing different guys. Just saying the line will be vastly improved by October.

Heard Myers did some work with the 1st team today for Lowe at LT. The young man must have some talent for Coach Palcic to have him to work with the 1st team.

Raising the bar indeed.
I think he's giving everyone a chance to compete so no hard feelings just like he said in the first interview PP did with him. Hughes was getting reps before injury, then Rice, now it sounds like Myers is getting a shot. Then Free will get put in when back. Those guys need all the reps they can get anyway so the more rotation right now the merrier IMHO. I would hope you get pretty set on your starting 5 and 2nd string by end of this week, though, as you start to prepare specifically for Baylor.

everybody knew coming in that the OL was going to be a challenge; that's a big part of why Palcic is here. Let's just hope he can get these guys to perform at a level beyond what most are expecting

Based on everything I have heard, I just don't see Lowe being ready to start the first game. Coach Palcic is obviously looking for a different combination now, and if Jordan Free can't go also, because of his injury, than we are going to be forced to play a true freshman on the line. Its hard to imagine that OL group playing well in the first game, but than again against the Baylor defensive line ? Who knows how that will work out with an "All Out" D ?

what's up with Lowe coming in in such pitiful condition? was he eating DQ Blizzards all summer instead of being in the gym? sure he's been out of football, but didnt he know 3-4 months ago what would be needed in August?
