Take a look at the Strength of Schedule in this ranking. Big 10 and PAC whatever teams are ranked higher than the SEC. Odd indeed.

We're better than Pitt, LaTech, SDSU and North Texas...this person has no familiarity with us.

Their strength of schedule is way off

Who cares?! We haven't played a game in 2012. Neither have any of these other teams. Go out and beat Baylor and we'll probably get some top 25 votes. Beat A&M and we'll be in the top 25, add in TCU Top 20-15. Pre-season polls are absolutely worthless! No one and I repeat, no one has earned any of those rankings. No one has done a damn thing in 2012, yet. We need to go out an earn it with actual, quality wins on the field.

This list is obviously meaningless after the top 25. I think who ever did the list just started putting teams in the list in no particular order. UNT does not have a harder schedule then us - no way. Yes, they play LSU for their first game but that's it! We play 2 big 12 teams and an SEC team too. Then we have Houston, Tulsa, So. Miss and UCF as other tough games.

The date the game was played, the name on the front of the jersey, the name on the front of the opponents' jerseys, conference affiliation and what a team did last year are not factors."

Considering we haven't played a game yet and they do not take what a team did last year as a factor, I have no idea what this poll could possibly be based on.

The 2 Big XII teams are TCU and Baylor. The SEC team is Texas A&M what are you arguing about?

Guys you are thinking about this all wrong! This is not good news, this is GREAT NEWS!

Three reasons why:

1. Opponents and opponent's fans will downplay us. If someone is dumb enough to overlook us or relax leading up to the game that works to our advantage.

2. When we have a big season (and we will have a big season), we look even better. The Mustang resurgence continues! We are not branded like an A&$ or Whorens. We are the little engine that could. With some good PR spin this is a better story for the program.

3. I get better spreads with book makers going into the season.

Win, win, win. I love this story. The glass is more than half full. Right now we are the 5 handicap golfer who is going to get strokes all season long from the duffers.

A good lead on the team is the bookmakers.
