I try to give away tickets to non-SMU grads but some people aren't interested because they feel unwelcome in the Park Cities in general and the SMU campus in particular. What if every ticket to the game included a free soft drink, beer, hot dog, burger, whatever from participating Boulevardiers? My particular tents are limited to my alum groups. People love to get something for free and this might make people outside the SMU family feel more welcome on campus.

It is easy to get a free beverage or snack on the boulevard. If people don't feel welcome at a tailgate setting then they don't know what it is about. No matter the campus, people have always played nice before football games.

We just need a clear public area with benches and food vendors, and we should have a guide online with tips for unaffiliated people like bringing the soft coolers

if you can't go have fun in a tailgating scene at ANY campus, you shouldn't be there.

I hope so. I love the Boulevard but I realize that unaffiliated people feel left out and that there is an air of exclusivity at some of the tents.

You want Dallas to attend? Set up a ginormous picnic-table biergarten...right next to where the cheerleaders line up for the march into the stadium...easy peasy

I think some free food for Dallas season ticket buyers is a great idea. Also, give away free T- Shirts for their kids. Hey, SMUSID, how can we donate to this project to help with the food and T-Shirts ? We have got to get these Dallas Fans to feel Welcome at SMU.

Why is everyone so hung up on giving away stuff for free.
