Reed pushed it to 485 a few weeks ago!ponyscott wrote:Very good break down...but Pittman is 305 pounds now and benches more than he ever has so he will be even more of a threat. He sat with us at the Kick Off lunch and he is much bigger than last year. LB Reed now benches 465 pounds! The SMU defense is formidable...
Next story will be about his injured back or pecs. Strength is important but we have too many kids that end up with injuries from the weight room.PonyPride wrote:Reed pushed it to 485 a few weeks ago!ponyscott wrote:Very good break down...but Pittman is 305 pounds now and benches more than he ever has so he will be even more of a threat. There is a max that every strength coach follows that they won't let their players go past. I know our strength coach won't let anyone squat over 705.mrydel wrote:Next story will be about his injured back or pecs. That's total BS Myrdel..they use all the up to date techniques and strategies and now have a younger assistant to Mel with even more new weightlifting mentalities.. This always happens with young kids working out....it happens, and all of the athletes have all made huge gains in strength and size and is a testament to Mels programs over the past 3 years...I used to lift a lot and remember the days or weeks when you pushed your self past the old limits and had some short time muscle injuries. C'mon Mrydel you did too back when you were benching 500 pounds!mrydel wrote:Next story will be about his injured back or pecs. Wasn't that a common issue with our current strength coach when he was in his previous job?mrydel wrote:Next story will be about his injured back or pecs. Strength is important but we have too many kids that end up with injuries from the weight room.
After he got hired someone who followed Hawaii posted that, no idea if it was true or not.PonySnob wrote:Wasn't that a common issue with our current strength coach when he was in his previous job?mrydel wrote:Next story will be about his injured back or pecs.
