But that is because it seems only UCF is any good and they are under probation and can't win CUSA. Get ready for the Hawaii Bowl.

I don't. I think we win all CUSA games but UCF possibly. I just don't think we are as talented as some thought we were.

What about UTEP? anyone on this board catch the first three quarters of their game against OU?

Their defense played surprisingly well and that RB of theirs shredded Oklahoma's defense. If they avoid their usual 2nd half of the season meltdowns they could make some noise in a really mediocre C-USA West.

By the time we get to conference play, I think montes and randolph are playing and gilbert will be playing well. I think we are absolutely going to be in the running to win the conference.

We shot ourselves in the foot early with boneheaded personal fouls. Combine that with JJs pathetic play calling and we didn't show up well. Those who watched the game know we played better than the score indicates, but a loss is a loss.

I will never understand why we throw on 1st and goal from inside the 4 when we have the best rb in cusa. We also have a big qb and another 260 lb rb.

I think we will be ok in cusa play but will likely lose to tamu and tcu and start at 1-3. Our players deserve better than JJ calling the same 6 plays from shotgun all night. We have no creativity in this run n shoot. No I formation. No tight end. We don't utilize a no huddle. Our qb has to run to talk to JJ after every play. We don't use signals.

The run n shoot is antiquated. And it shows.

Wow, I sure hope we can contend for the CUSA title. That would be really impressive.

A mild excuse for a mid major league, with Houston down and Tulsa getting clocked by Iowa State, I would hope our fans would expect and accept nothing less than a CUSA championship. But alas, I say we don't win the West. And our fandom will be fine with that as long as we play in a bowl, somewhere.

We ran just fine in the red zone last year.

The issue isn't zach. it is the offensive line. the Baylor D kept three LBs in the middle. Our OL couldn't get to the second level and they all just ran and nailed zach at the line of scrimmage. The running plays weren't going anywhere down near the line.

Every team in C-USA lost and only 2 of the 12 teams in C-USA had wins. What does this say about the quality of the teams in this conference. I can't handle another humiliation like this again.

Agreed. I think after they fine tune some things in the SFA that we won't get embarrassed by ATM and TCU.

No games this season are guaranteed wins. AT UTEP, sadly, will be tough and UH and Tulsa always have our number it seems. Heck, don't even sleep on SFA. Our guys have to play with a chip on their shoulders against aTm to avoid anything short of a complete [deleted] kicking.

I expect a CUSA win. Will it happen? I'd bet against it right now.

I hope we get some confidence back against SFA (although it will be in an empty stadium sadly).

Yes. The sky is falling. We lost a game to a team that was dominant in a BCS conference last year. Am I one of the few that are willing to give this team a chance at redemption next week? Not to mention the other 10 games that follow that one?

how many starters did Baylor have back? something like 14? thats alot. I think we all expected them to fall apart without Griffin, but the fact is that Florence is pretty good and has had time to develop. thats the sad thing about JJs tenure here, no QB has been developed. they all get kicked to the curb.

IMO we will be very lucky to finish at the top of our mediocre division. I suspect that Tulsa, UTEP, and Houston will beat us. Also, very possible another team will beat us as well.
The only consolation to that is that if we lose 4 conference games and end up in the middle of the pack perhaps the powers that be will put an end to the jj folly.
