Hard to tell being at the game and not watching on TV. No sacks and really no pressure all game. Seems like he had plenty of time to throw.
I am thinking that Bennett didn't go "all out" for most of the game? Did he drop back all his LB's and play us coverage all day? For those that watched on TV. What was your perspective?

I thought the o-line did far better than anyone expected

From JJ's post-game comments, he said that the O-line had a tough time, and that Garrett getting rid of the ball quickly was more of the reason why we didn't take any sacks.

Offensive line only dealt with 3 rushers the whole game, allowed far too much penetration in run blocking. Decent effort for their first time out. Bennett dropped back 8 most of the game, he was pretty much daring us to go down the field and punch in it, drops and crappy throws killed us.

Zach didn't appear to have those highway lanes like he did last year. Baylor did a great job filling those holes quickly..

True, and yet he still had over 130 yards rushing. That kid is tough.

Sounds like the DJ interception was caused by a forced throw too quick because a missed blocked assignment allowed the defender to get to GG before the play was set up. I wonder which guard JJ said went the wrong way. On the surface, I thought the OL did well, but maybe just "ok".
Wow, on a side note, what is the deal with Stavion Lowe. What a huge disappointment. He should be holding down that tackle spot.

Lowe came in out of shape and rusty and looked horrendous in practice. Not even on the 2 deep.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's a damn shame with all that talent and potential. I wonder what his deal is. Must not be very motivated/ambitious.

Kid is rusty, totally out of shape and has has essentially not played since high school. We may not get anything out of him this season and that assumes he still is mentally committed to playing football.

He's only been here for a month. Cut him some slack.

And he was working out three times a day here at SMU and pulled his hamstring...give him a break.

From watching the game on TV live and then on the DVR (the first time was embarrassing because I had friends over and the second time was just masochistic) there were a couple of things with the offensive line.
Running game: The O-linemen never got to the second level in the 3-4 defense that PB was running. So in the early part of the game as Line was running he was facing the linebackers who were running free. They got stronger as the game went on and started getting to the second level.
Passing Game: The game plan was to get the ball out of GG's hand as fast as possible. This was to reduce the stress and pressure on these guys. Given that, they did a very, very good job holding up the pass rush.
Interception: JJ said that a guard went the wrong way and the routes never had time to develop. I am going to put this one, not on the o-line, but on Darius Johnson. SMU was in a 5 wide set. Baylor didn't hide the blitz and DJ was looking in. He started his route and never once turned his head. The ball was thrown low and away from the DB (where it is supposed to be) and hit him in the hands. DJ saw the blitz coming and never looked to help his QB. The O-line gets a pass on that one. That one was all about DJ.

Feel free to correct me, but every time Zach ran it was a delay. As soon as that happened, the DEs for Baylor slipped their blocks and closed toward center, where Zach usually headed. I think it was great coaching on Bennet's part and we did not respond with outside running by GG. Where was the shuttle pass with Zach going outside the tackle? Baylor coaching had our number and the talent to shut us down. "We do what we do". Maybe it's time to shake it up a little?

Absolutely correct. Bennett was ready for us.
