The Silver Lining Awards have been delayed due to computer hard drive crash. I refuse to list the NUMEROUS Silver Linign Awards that should be handed out by tapping them out on an Iphone. It appears that many others are posting happenings that could strongly be considered for the SLAs and that will have to do for now. As for now the only Silver Lining Award I will list is:
1. Computer to be repaired soon and positng about SMU game results can resume.

Week one showed that C-USA is as watered down as ever. But the reality, after SFA we play two teams MUCH better than Baylor. So we are likely looking at a 1-3 start. I was really hoping for great games and gameday atmosphere against A&M and TCU but week one doesn't give me optimisim. Our defense has to improve considerably for those games to be competitive.

I don't know...Baylor could turn out to be pretty good. I think they are better than A&M

Baylor is definitely better than we gave them credit for but I believe A&M is going to better than most believe too. Sumlin is a damn good coach and he has a lot of talent on that roster. I was really disappointed the A&M/La Tech game was postponed. La Tech is salty. I believe before the game was postponed, A&M was only a 5 pt favorite.

Our offensive played well, especially in pass protection. Run blocking wasn't great but still allowed Zach Line to rumble for 135 yards.

Looked like Baylor was keying on Line and on the short passes. I thought Line's numbers were exceptional given that amount of focus the other team had on shutting him down.

Kickoff team and punt team. Looked solid all the way around.
Line of course.
Pass protection
Young players making the most of limited playing time.

I think Zach's numbers were really deceiving, how many of those yards were from the end of the 3rd Q- 4th Q after baylor was up a few scores and dropping everyone into coverge/had back ups in?

#10 in the nation in passing yards
Tied for 1st in the nation in sacks allowed
#41 in rushing yards per attempt
3rd down conversion on both sides
- allowing only 2 of 8 (both on penalties)
- making 12 of 20 attempts

I'd definitely say our crowd looked great on t.v. It really helps when most everyone wears the same color.

Agreed Soccermom. Thank you to those that went. Nice red glob in a sea of yellow. Even the announcers mentioned how well we traveled. It is a shame we did not perform as well as we traveled.

I would guess 4,000 or 5,000?
The announced crowd was 43,514 and we had to have at least 10% of the crowd.
