Let me go out on a limb and say that Garrett, you did just about the best job that any SMU QB has done in the first game in recent history, Yep, some things to work on but not bad at all. I'm pretty excited about our chances with you at the helm. Good on ya. Keep plugging away and watch for low flying birds that will deflect a long ball into the defender's hands. Being an SMU fan, I've seen just about everything except for that.

This.
I haven't been watching as long as some (about 20 years), and I can't remember a debut like that. He was far from perfect, which he and June both acknowledged, but his performance sure was encouraging. There's a lot of talent in this guy, and you have to think he'll get better and better as he gets used to his receivers.

How quickly we forget. Padron's initial start was as an 18 yr old frosh and he threw for 354 yds and a win. That is the single best start of all time for a SMU QB and he only threw 30 passes, 354 yds, 2 TDs, and a win on the road. 59 passes, best start in 20 yrs?????

I'm a big KP supporter but remember he was playing against an easier opponent and probably more relaxed as GG expectation every year seems to be astronomical which has to be do stressful. I like GG I wish he could of played last year rather than McDermott
