I felt a little insulted that we weren't included and Houston who lost to FCS team got in... What do you guys think?

Pretty sure CBS didn't have us in their preseason bowl picks either.

I think we go 1-3 in OOC, and would be surprised to win 5 conference games. Might need 6 conference wins to make it to a bowl.

My bad not seeing preseason I guess they thought what were seeing on OOC.
I'm thinking that we will beat SFA, TUL, Memp, Hou (considering their game1), UTEP (maybe), UCF (maybe), Rice, maybe Tulsa since its at home. So. Miss will assume loss.
I realize the maybes but given the writeoff of 3 games. I think it's fair to say 7-5 prediction with trip to hawaii (bleh)
Worst case I imagine 6-6 and hopefully a bowl...
Just my opinion

I don't think SFA count's toward bowl eligibility does it (as they are FCS)? I think 6-6 and we're out.

They are a division 1 program as of this yr. Even got some votes in the AP poll somehow

Can't you count one FCS win in your total?

Each school can count one win over an FCS school toward bowl eligibility

SFA is Div 1 FCS like they have been for quite some time. You might be referring to Texas State or UTSA

and by the way - we still have to beat them - which is not a given.

If we go 6-6 we will make a bowl game. There are so many teams that are banned from bowls for various reasons.

A lot of prognosticators are just lazy and we'll base their predictions way too much off of last year's results. It should have been obvious that Houston was going to fall hard.

I would hope June quits or is ushered out if we go 6-6, that would be absolutely pathetic at this point, even with the instability that it would create upon entering the Big East. If we somehow finish with less than 6 wins and he isn't fired on the spot, I promise I'll never go to another game in my life.
I told myself I'd be disappointed with less that 8 wins this year, I'm not one of these Stockholm syndrome fans that is going to continue to worship a man for barely making a bowl game every year when he is being paid 2 mil. a year.

I don't think you will have to worry about JJ getting the boot if we don't go bowling... The only thing to worry about... Who coaches next? How will recruiting be impacted etc? Big east won't like two 2011 bowl winning teams firing coaches and getting pummeled before their joining.

He needs to go... Looking back, I am not sure how he was able to do so well beating up on the WAC at UH. His play calling absolutely sux. 1st half last week we are in a 3rd and 1 situation and June draws up a 12 yard pass down the sideline. Then we turn around and kick a FG that wouldn't have been close if the post were 25 ft over. You have the most underated RB in the nation and you can't pound it twice with him to try and pick up the 1st down. I am tired of his gimicky offense that shows below average results. Bring back the pistol!
