Says scheduling 3 BCS teams in OOC is counterproductive.

I agree. Keep TCU. Fine tune with the others prior to conference play.

Man up, June. Scheduling weaklings like SFA sure didn't appear to get our first team offense clicking.

Getting blasted by Baylor did not either. In fact it got several players hurt but I think what he wants is a good shot at going 4-0 in OOC.

He has a point to a degree.1-2 of bcs teams is enough to me...Boise played the big boys and so did TCU within the last 5 yrs.

I think Jones would agree that 1 would be fine. He did not say not play any. We have not recruited well enough to play 2 or 3 yet.

They both, as well as BU, also play plenty of cupcakes. You do your best to go undefeated in your OOC and fine tune for conference play. I like the TCU rivalry because it's local and will pack the house everytime and we can beat that [deleted].

I agree with the idea of keeping TCU and maybe Baylor. A&M makes no sense. Put me down for TCU every year, Baylor or a team of that caliber every year, and then a couple of cupcakes against which we can work on things before the important (conference) games start.

I hope we get out of A&M next yr - keep TCU. Glad that Navy game is gone. Everone seems to love playing La Monroe but that didnt work out so well...haha.

Of course, scheduling made up about 15 seconds of that interview. Coach J had some pretty interesting things to say about Gilbert's transition from UT to SMU, the outburst of takeaways against SFA, etc. Good stuff.

I don't think we have A&M in the future. This is the return "1" game of a very old 2 for 1 contract. 2 solid teams and 2 more manageable teams would be fine.

But then again, June has been *itching about how the fans don't show up, and there is no better way to attract crowds than to play legit teams in the non-conference when our conference schedule has a lot of "meh" matchups (even in the Big East, I don't see Memphis, Connecticut, San Diego State, and even Rutgers & Cincy being huge crowd draws).

And when you actually win those BCS matchups, it is actually quite productive.

Ah...and there in lies our problem. Pretty hard to claim we belong in the BCS when we can't even be competitive with the BCS teams we play much less beat them...and we can't do either of those things if we don't play them. At this stage I would be happy if we were at least competitive when we play them.

So...BEAT the Aggies!!!!!!!

Keep TCU or Baylor not both. Only one bcs game for now until we get more talent recruited. Even then after that no more than 2 due to the fact that we are going to a BCS conference and it will be tough to make a bowl game with 2 or more OOC games. Are you saying aTm makes no sense because we can never beat them?

We play 8 BCS teams in conference next year so that should take care of your concern.
