We will be playing Baylor (obviously along with TCU) every year up to 2019. After that we just need to stick to the two cupcake model (make UNT one I guess).
This was info was given by DMN.

Schools get out of contracts all the time.

I like this.
Easy road trip for the fans, against a quality team in a big-time conference.
Don't like getting pummeled, but these games may season us for high-level play in conference..

I like the annual SMU games for many similar reasons on our end.
- Easy road trip
- Should be a solid opponent
- Balances well with 9 league games and a typically easy combo of Rice, UTSA, Duke, Buffalo, ULM, and FCS schools for our final 2 games.
- Only Duke and Buffalo are road games outside TX from 2013 on.

I don't think they will if they chose to lock in 7 games, if it were 3 I would have less confidence. Bay, TCU + 2 cupcakes = desirable OOC

That is ideal. We just beat TCU, now let's see if we can manage to beat Baylor at least once in the next 7 years

It give us something to cheer about even if we go 1-6. I still think we can pull an upset on TCU. We will see how they.play against Kansas

I have said this a couple times over here but I really think there is a chance that the TCU-SMU series comes to an end within the next couple years. Maybe I am wrong but I wouldn't be at all surprised.

Probably when we beat them for the next couple of years. Patterson will figure he helps us too much. In reality, I don't think SMU would ever want to cancel the series for attendance sake. And don't get why TCU would. Why do you think? Do they need another Grambling game?

tcu would not want to renew this because they are chicken [Fatterson]. They're afraid as heck to lose to us, and they figure they have nothing to gain by beating us and everything to lose when we beat them. I wish we had employed that mentality when we were kicking their [Fatterson] for 15 years in a row.

let's keep playing TCU and Baylor every year; mix in UNT and I'm pretty happy with those games

Can we mix Highland Park in there?......Wow with fans like these SMU is headed places. Suppose you people are right and the cupcakes give us one BCS birth in 10 years against Kansas State. Would you rather that, to 10 seasons (40 games) with BCS elite??

I don't see TCU smu series ended. Too much tradition to give up with nothing to gain. Also they will already have a tough schedule as-is.

i would rather have the one BCS game then get pummeled for 10 years and start every season like we will start this one and next one - 1-3 - with all the air let out of your tires and nobody giving a rats &*^ about any of the remaining 7 games. So yes - bring on the cupcakes. one Baylor and one TCU and two gimmies is fine.
Look who the horns play this year - 4 sisters of the blind - so when they win a few conference games people start thinking "special season" and they pack them in and make lots of money.
I dont know who yall think we are. We are lucky to be in a BCS (sorta) right now
