Defense Rankings

Yes, only 1-2 games played, I know...
Total defense - SMU is 116 out of 120
Passing defense - SMU is 117 out of 120
TCU is #1
A&M is #33

What about take aways and interceptions? We have to be near the top in those categories.

TCU has only played a crappy school.
that said - our D is looking like a weakness instead of the strength it was last year.

the D vs SFA gave up very little per play.

You are right, SFA did have a lot of plays to go along with their yards

You are right, SFA did have a lot of plays to go along with their yards
Typically the entire group of FBS teams averages 70 plays per game for either offense or D.
SFA ran 100.
Do the math and it comes out to the equivalent of a typical game allowing 326 yards. The YPP allowed in the SFA game would have been better than the YPP of all but 11 team's season averages last year. Obviously consider the foe but the D didn't perform poorly last week for SMU.

In the end, the only stat that matters is the one on the score board.
