Hey June,
play Dieter, he's open and he can actually catch Gilbert's close range, one speed fastball!!!!

Dieter is a superior product...I can only assume he is being protected until conference play...I can't think of any other reason.

He only knows 2 routes so far. Give him time to learn the offense.

Maybe that is what this offense needs, receivers that are running only one or two route.

Problem is when they put him in and run the wide receiver screen for the third time it becomes a 3 yard loss. When he splits out and is alone on the outside he is just going to run deep. If there is another receiver out with him it is a screen.

Might want to keep Holman and Deiter in the game as Holman did okay today.

Two routes in nine months of being enrolled at SMU...this offense must be more complicated than Differential Equations.

Dieter , ZL, GG are our only hope. In some sense I hope dieter transfers to a school he deserves he has so much talent and plays extraordinarily well for freshman. I just hoops for our good players sake they don't realize it and when we get a new coach he can maximize it

I think Dieter looked better than any of our other receivers yesterday, but I think CP needs to be in on more of the action. I was hopeful that GG would be all that, but I'm not impressed....

I agree that Gilbert has not looked good, but even in mop-up duty, I didn't think that CP looked ready for prime time.
Edit: but, I should have added... more Dieter would be a very, very good thing.

When DJ was a Freshman, Padron was still learning the O. So the entire O scheme wasn't in place. DJ didn't have to learn the entire complexity of the R&S. GG has knowledge and experience with this offense and similar offenses. He has vast experience reading Ds which is a huge skill.
Dieter has to learn the entire offense which is considerable more complex than DJ's Fresh year. So we will see more Dieter as he learns more of the O. Once again we have expectations of freshmen that are beyond their ability to deliver at this point in the season. We have to give young players time to learn and get experience.
And all the Dieters in the world are not going to protect GG and keep passing lanes open. The O line also needs to improve.

For an offense that is so complex, it sure manages to do no damage.
