Come on ICP, or some other June butt kisser....tell me that it will get better...we have an off week, we always play TCU well....once we get in conference play and get to compete against teams just a notch above the Sunbelt conference...we will be fine.

In the offweek June will open up the playbook to GG...we will finally get to the page that has a TD play on it.

It will all be fine? right!?!?!?!

I know its much harder to find Kool Aide drinkers, but there must be a couple left.

I've always noticed they start coming out in droves at about 2:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon after a loss like this

I'll bite. So far our loses have been to better teams than the Beloved Razorbacks' loses.

GG will get better with more work with his receivers. Timing takes time and there hasn't been enough time for timing.

Our backers will create move turnovers and give our O a short field. Long drives are very difficult to sustain and we haven't hit any real big plays.

Fair reply, only thing that I will say is does GG even have any receivers to work with? We have one pretty nice munckin at receiver that the other team can triple team, push around, harass. After DJ....we have a bevy of "receivers" that would probably be relegated to special teams on a good 5A high school team...

Only DJ? I would assume dieter first...

From these first 3 games, it looks like DJ might actually need his degree.........

I was very impressed by the way the defense came out yesterday. Problem was, you knew they couldn't sustain that effort and when the O couldn't generate 1st downs, it was just a matter of time before they wore down. Just listen to Taylor Reede's post game comments. 'Bout sums it up.

JJ was dead on in his post game comments. All we needed was for a couple of key plays to have had a different result and who knows?

GG's deep ball to Thompson that could have been 6. Ball thrown outside (I didn't have a problem with that because the safety was on the inside) and Thompson didn't turn to it. Of course, Thompson had the guy beat and even a throw to the inside would have been 6.

Shortly after that, after the D held A&M to yet another 3 and out, GG's scramble that could have easily been a 1st down and possibly built some momentum...until he came up 1/2 yard short when he went down to avoid any contact.

I was surprise we weren't more than 2 TD underdogs yesterday, but the point is, when you are a heavy dog, it takes making those key plays for the guys to start believing they really can pull off the upset.

I really don't think this team is as bad as everyone thinks they are right now. We really need to long suffering hard core Mustang fans to hang in there right now. I'd hat to see only 10k show for CUSA play once those games start.

We need to upset TCU to turn things around. I'm guessing we open as about 8-9 pt dogs, depending on how TCU plays next week against Virginia.

To those who are just saying- oh well, we haven't started conference play yet- you realize we are playing in a harder conference next year, and unless Baylor and a&m play for the national championship, it doesn't make me feel better to say, yea we got absolutely annihilated by 2 average major conference teams, but that's ok. We were competitive in our little league. Hooray!

Yes, this team is as bad as everybody thinks- thanks to a coach who refuses to make offensive changes and a defensive coach that by the end of 1 qtr has become totally predictable.

Last year in our lower level conference (cusa) it took the teams 2-3 qtrs to figure out what the D would do. With higher level teams and smarter coaches it only takes 1 qtr. JJ's squat and crap O needs to go as does he. We need a coach who will actively recruit top level players and get them to SMU.
Since JJ ran off the only two coaches who made an effort to recruit we now find ourselves scratching for recruits whose only offers are from the likes of UTSA, north texas teachers and SFA. IMO for 5 yrs and $10+ mil that just doesn't cut it.

CUSA is awful - we are supposed to be getting better than maybe winning CUSA. That isn't what you hire a coach at a top 25 salary to do
