How bad is our secondary?

Besides their 6 ints against SFA our secondary has been miserable. They can't cover, can't tackle, and a lot of times they appear to play with very little heart. I'm sick and tired of watching these guys give up big yards. I would do anything to have guys like Banjo, Crawford, and Moore back in our lineup, they were at least more fun to watch.

The safeties are the biggest problem.

And can not run as fast. JJ has recruited a good CUSA team, that is it.

Chris Parks (#1) gets beat on almost EVERY. SINGLE. THROW.

Baylor and TAMU threw against him the whole damn game because they knew he couldn't keep up.

I'm not as worried with our Offense at the CUSA level as I am with the DBs and especially the second CB position. Luckily most of the quality QBs that CUSA definitely had have graduated. But the secondary could be the Achilles heal that keeps us from winning CUSA. SMU has patched together some pretty good CBs mostly through JUCOs in recent years. This year I'm worried we are taking too giant steps back and there aren't any option. Did Parks reinjure his hamstring. His replacement Keith Robinson was propmtly burned as he has been throughout his career. No answers on the Roster that I can see. I guess Montes might be given a shot-but if he can't beat out Keith Robinson in Week 2 of Camp then I'm not holding out much hope. Hey maybe the Poston kid-he only got beat deep by 5 yards

We should be fine against Memphis and Tulane.

A&M was not a good measuring stick. After
Manziel extended the plays there was too much time to cover. Somebody was bound to get open.

:?

Safeties.

That's what safety support is for. Ryan Smith, as great a kid as he is, is the achilles heal in the defense. Of course, we need 2-3 300 plus pounders in the middle plus a couple of speed rushers on the outside also. ;-)
