Aggie fan in the SMU radio broadcast booth.

With the game 20-0 at halftime and Gilbert looking awful (as usual), I couldn't find the exits fast enough. At some point in the second half, I tuned in to the ticket just to see how bad it had gotten and I hear John Hampton going out of his way to make sure his listening audience understood that he has no ill-feelings or hatred for Texas A&M and wishes them nothing but success in the SEC, hoping they represent the state of Texas well in their new conference. He just went on and on.
Man, I don't need to be hearing that crap when my mustangs are having their heads handed to them. Swanny never would have uttered such pleasantries toward a team while the mustangs were being routed, and we got routed often back then. Hey Hampton, just keep it to yourself bro, please. You're not that great of a broadcaster to begin with and pony fans don't need to be listening to you lavish praise on an opponent during an embarrassing whipping. Can we PLEASE bring Swann back?

The ticket guys, mostly, rarely say anything positive about SMU...I guess they are the only station that will carry our games. I know a number of them went to NTSC,old name... But we should put a little pressure on them to at least include SMU in their reporting,if that is what it is...wrr the other morning ,urged folks to go to the tcu game...and that station is owned by the city ofdallas..so,we have a lot ofworktodo, just to get mentioned...it takes time,I just hope we use it wisely..

IIRC Hampton played fball at SMU- kind of like Matt our kicker from last year saying that he was from a&m. And we wonder why we have probs getting alumni support.

GG blamer... Really nobody else... The entire offense except ZL and dieter were awful. GG did the best he could but we should have made a deal no oline for us but give us 5 seconds before you come after GG. Even the WR would drop the ball or walk their routes.

Hampton was a stud TE for us. He bleeds red and blue.
When he says stuff like that, it means that he ripped A&M earlier in the game and felt the need to apologize because he went over the top.

What the hell are you saying?
1) Not entirely GG fault
2) receivers forgot they are suppose to receive balls rather than drop
3) o line is young and can't hold for more than 5 secs
4) sum up: not all GG fault given #2 and 3

Want the ticket to report? Don't get blown out every time you face decent competition.

1) Definitely true. He's not playing well, but...
2) The drops are not helping at all. With the exception of Dieter, the receivers look uninterested.
3) An offensive line that could give 5 seconds of protection would be all world... but your point is well taken... not enough time.

Ding, ding!!! Winner.
Honestly, am I the only one who is surprised that the Ticket still carries our games? We haven't exactly lit up the competition, and we've only had 3 decent years out of what 11-12 since they've been covering our games.

How about editing the title to this thread...then carry on.
Change it to, "SMU color commentator shows a semblance of indifference, finally" or "SMU color commentator indifferent to Aggies" or something, but calling me out as a fan of theirs is offensive.
Yes, good luck to them in the SEC, I'm glad they finally stood up to UT, and yes, it's comical that a former Tech QB locks legs and sways to the aggie war hymn while his college teammates and fraternity brothers openly refuse acknowledgment of his time in Lubbock.
I dont care one way or another how A&M fares in the SEC as long as they compete, so much so that Bama and LSU fan bases cannot continue reducing Texas talent on an even more obnoxious level.
For the record, I ask Swann to return each year. That s.o.b. has a beautiful family and a life-balance so enviable, he couldn't find time to keep talking about three and outs on offense and a defense losing steam from never getting time to rest or adjust because of said three and outs, especially after his future mustang kids began dominating their respective fall sports. Who knows, maybe he'll be back in the booth when his son is an all-conference player here in 15 years and you can stick around all four quarters to watch.
But thank you for listening, bro.

This. If anything, Rich and John are big homers for us, and they do a great job promoting our program, even when there is little worth promoting.
Of all the things to complain about from Saturday . . .
1. Offensive scheme, execution, and playcalling
2. Recruiting
3. Attendance

20. Uniforms too red/too stripey
21. Mascot
22. Fan color coordination
