I know you are new to SMU so my request may not be easy. JJ has done what few could do so understand that I'm thankful for his accomplishments. That said, he no longer wants to be here so I no longer want him. On the field results are exhibit A. Please let's move on after this year. The next HC will be a very important decision so start working on it now. We don't need another project ie someone who is a great DC, etc. We need a proven HC who can win. Let's rally the Circle of Champions, expand the list if necessary, so we can hire a HC to wow college football fans, recruits, etc. and who is a proven winner. It's time to step up and we need to do so in a big way and do so now or we risk losing the progress the football program has achieved under JJ. It's your time to think big!

Isn't that the job of Rick Hart and his staff? I realize his authority is probably somewhat limited and RGT, CoC, etc play a big part in this process. I'm sure the responsible folks can find a candidate or 2

Ojaipony is a troll who supports June Jones. He treats other posters as though they are idiots, when in fact he was one of the very few who believed believed SMU would defeat A&M.
Of course, now that SMU has lost, he is blaming everyone but June Jones.

anyone who actually recruits and hires a staff to do so. That is part of college coaching. This isn't NFL D league.

Yes, you got me Samarai. I'm a troll. I didn't attend SMU, give money every year, wear my school colors with pride and cheer on my team in large public sports bars all over the west coast even while traveling and taking time away from my family while doing so. Before you start slamming someone personally (and anonymously) on this board, understand who you are going after. And, yes, OF COURSE, I said SMU would win - I think they can win every game . . . I'm a fan.
I want this program to succeed and I make suggestions/give constructive ideas. Do you have any? I've made coaching suggestions. How about you? What do you propose is the answer?

Yes, it's just that simple. Who would you hire? I've been here for a long time and watched every "savior" post-DP flame and burn. It's more than just the right coach, it takes a cultural change. I thought Rossley was a very good coach. Cavan did some good things. Bennett had a couple of good recruiting classes and none of them got us a winning record (except once). I definitely have issues with June Jones. I just struggle with who should be next. I've created a list, but I don't know . . .
Sonny Dykes
Kliff Kingsbury
Adrian Klemm
Jay Norvell
D.J. Durkin
Ed Orgeron

My suggestion is the NTCC coach since he can take a horrible school and actually compete against LSU and KSU. I mean even if he loses it's a stepping stone. Think about how hard it is to build a team there yet he did or someone did to have a team (unbiased) kick our red and blue asses in our home stadium right now if we were to play them.

I have stated that SMU and June Jones should part ways. Having that position does not require me to name a successor. Any number of coaches could be successful at SMU. Without knowing who is interested and how much money is available, however, I find it meaningless to speculate.
