Despite all of the bad press, I think it sounds like a pretty exciting conference to watch. Looking forward to SMU being in the BE.
I think it would help if we were able to land all of the military schools, Army, Navy, and Air Force. It would definitely give the conference more stability.

Would love if all 3 military schools were to join.
The Red/Blue Conferences seems extremely exciting to me for some reason.

Hopefully the payouts are at the higher end of the scales mentioned. While $4 million is a huge improvement over C-USA, still peanuts compared to what the teams in the other "BCS" conferences are getting.

I hope the BE at least considers the NBC offer.

It will not be a cakewalk (except Memphis and maybe SDSU) but it will be fun to watch.

so to summarize SMU's BE schedule will be:
Louisville, South Florida, Connecticut, San Diego State, SMU, Navy, Memphis, Houston. two games against : Cincinnati, Central Florida, Rutgers, Boise State, Temple and the 14th team.
I take Rutgers over CT which is in the middle of no where. Rutgers is 45 minutes from NYC and a much better road trip. Also Temple is in Philly another big city that has more to offer.

So, when we play ourselves, do you think we have a chance to win that one?

Since we play 2 games in the other division we might plat Rutgers and Temple next year anyway.

Let's hope we don't have to play L'ville and Cincy in the same yr. Also sure would be nice if Navy were in the other group. I hate playing their offense with all of the chop blocking.

Hartford is not the middle of nowhere. It is a direct flight from DFW to Bradley on American Airlines. I can be in Manhattan in 1.5hrs by car.
I don't know who designed the field, but it looks like an upsized version of Plano's John Clark field. Very good sight lines. Very nice place to watch a game.
Personally, I want to see Rutgers, Army, and Uconn on the schedule - all of them are in driving distance from my house. Navy would be a doable drive.
But - I am biased.

When you play with yourself, you never win - you just go blind!!
