SMU Episode 1 - A New Hope

Much like the Star Wars saga, we start in the middle. I have been dogging JJ and his recruiting efforts as well as his play calling. I seriously worry about playing in the Big East. But I have found a reason to hope for good things for the rest of this season.
A quick look at the total defensive rankings shows that TCU is #7 and TAMU is #33. I can't fault our offense for struggling against those teams. Baylor is dead last, but much of that came from the WVU game. Shoot, after that game WVU ranks #106. So take that ranking with a grain of salt.
Let's look at the D rankings for the rest of the teams on our schedule:
Oct. 6 at Texas-El Paso 7:00pm (#96)
Oct. 13 at Tulane 12:00pm (#112)
Oct. 18 Houston 7:00pm (#111)
Oct. 27 Memphis 2:30pm (#110)
Nov. 3 at UCF 6:00pm (#37)
Nov. 10 Southern Miss. TBA (#78)
Nov. 17 at Rice 2:30pm (#119)
Nov. 24 Tulsa TBA (#32)
Aside from UCF and Tulsa, we are facing pretty bad defenses for the rest of the season. If we can't get it together facing these teams, I think it becomes clear that JJ needs to go.

Like I have said before no reason we should not win CUSA. Especially given those stats.

Lol what are you smoking???
To the cusa hopeful people, again the only relevant games is ucf and Houston. Why because that's who we are playing from now on. So majority of the season is essentially garbage. Another issue of the June to death and cusa season supporters. This tv deal (can't factor us as the only piece) just got shot down. I'm sure we were one of the teams that was suppose to show big east will be competitive and what we have shown is sec or big 12 would destroy a pathetic new big east team. Fortunately the Mickey Mouse football team knows how to play tough football and look competitive. Houston and SMU have to be thankful they are parked up to two huge cities. Well lucky for Houston they don't feel phased out by their city. Even if we pull of 9-3, you know what that says to the rest. We are a top cusa team and cellar dweller anywhere above it...
