For those concerned about the offense

We only have 2 games against teams that we need good offense and that is Tulsa and UCF. The other teams are so bad that the defense can carry us if needed. Now let's all say adios to CUSA with a conference championship.

Houston will beat SMU with the current offense.

I am game. Let's do it. We ought to beat Tulane for two in a row and we can go from there.

Houston wins are over Rice and UNT. We are not Rice or UNT. The team will take them down with no problems.

Agreed...I am much more concerned about Houston's offense than UCF. SMU will need to put up some good points against Tulsa and Houston if we want to win.
Houston had a couple of poor showings, but they seem to have gotten their legs back and their offense is playing pretty well.

With Houston and Tulsa, it is more about pace and our lack of depth at corner. That is why we will not be able to keep up in the second half against those teams (at least not with the state of the offense right now). UCF actually fits our play much better, so I am not as worried about them as the other two.
Houston is going to be a big struggle. Tulsa is at the end of the season, so the offense will be much better by then, and the defensive depth will be too.
We have 3 games before UCF, I think we will be much better by then. I think we have a 50/50 shot there, and then the Tulsa game will depend on how much improvement we have and how healthy we are. Houston, right now I think we only have about a 25% chance of winning the game, unless we get better really quickly against Tulane.

from memory UH had something like 638 yards Total Offense today. Charles Sims had over 200 yards rushing. They had 699 in another game this year. They are starting to put it together

But how many yards did their defense give up. We will beat them at our place.

If you discount the defense a bit we are UNT and rice, we proved that in our ooc

But you can't discount our D. Please include some reality into your negatism. I am a down on Jones as anybody but give credit where credit is due. You need to not let your opinions on the coach completely distort the reality of what happens on the field. It is getting old.

You have seen my posts it's not all on JJ, I think our WRs are just starting to learn how to play WRs like not dropping the ball constantly. I think have a young o line hurts now hopefully will be awesome later. I think our special teams can be as good as 1-aa special teams. That indirectly is on JJ and his awesome diamond searching but the offense needs to get it together or we are a UNT whether ppl think so or not

We need much better play from the QB position.......so far JJ gets an "F" at the position that he is the "guru" for!

Defense and O Line are playing well. Even the announcers noting that. When GG and the WR's put it together we will have a formidable team.

Agreed, although the run blocking from the O line has me concerned. Maybe UTEP just has a very good run defense, but our guys are struggling to get to the next level and maintaining blocks. Pass blocking could be improved as well.
Still seems that GG and DJ are nowhere near on the same page. Very odd. I'm sure it's just a chemistry thing. If DJ wants to get to the next level, I'd be eating every meal with GG/have my locker right next to him, etc ala Michael Irvin.
