89.2 QB Rating which puts him #121 out of 122 QBs on this ESPN list
Only the Tulane QB is behind him. Will be the battle of the worst QBs in the country (by passer rating anyway) this weekend

Their regular starter Ryan Griffin could be back for this game.

Wow. As bad as he's played, that is still shocking.

So you are saying this Saturday is going to be a shootout.

On the bright side, our low-rated QB is going against a crappy Tulane D, whereas there is going against a solid SMU D. Hopefully things start to click and he can dig himself out of the cellar this weekend.

I am more interested in how well he performs now, not in the past. I think he was better against UTEP and I hope that contiues through Tulane.

The passer rating is a system artifact. Funny thing is we've racked up 249 passing yards per game. Good enough for #50. GG completes a few more and we're talking about 300 per game. That's what we should expect from here out. The running game will excel when we connect on a deep threat or 2. I'm not saying we should be happy with the offense. But winning is the best thing we can do for recruiting. And this team will win most of its games. If the offense picks up a tiny bit, we could beat UCF.

Divide those passing yards by total attempts and Gilbert falls to 121st in the nation (4.9 Y/A) which is horribly inefficient considering how many attempts he averages per game (45.6). It's going to take a lot more than a tiny bit of improvement in our passing efficiency to beat UCF or any team left on the schedule with a pulse. The only thing that can improve this recruiting class is a new coaching staff, with June in charge we're only going to get the same 1-AA caliber recruits we've been getting no matter how many wins we rack up over C-USA teams.

And we are #118 in rushing. #50 in passing is completely unacceptable if you are 118th in rushing.

And even that is largely due to the fact that we spend so much time trying to develop a passing game.

The QB rating is [deleted]. If the WRs weren't so freaking drop happy he wouldn't be lower than #50 of 122. If you guys truly think his QB rating is a depiction of him then our WR rating (there should be one) is worst than TCC's flag football team, give me a [deleted] break

You're kidding yourself on that one. The WRs have been awful, yes, but GG has been just as bad.

Ill admit his deep throw is bad but at least it's not up for grabs. Typically his mid range is accurate but WRs drop, short passes are right on but you don't get much after awhile.
