JJ is very deadpan in his press conferences but I can't say I find fault with what he says. Particularly with regard to the field goal at the end of the Tulane game. I wish he'd gone for it but I don't think it was wrong but 100% of the people I asked today about their opinion would have kicked the fg too.

The field goal was not the problem.
The pass on third down was the problem. Without the pass, the clock is running, and whether you kick the field goal or go for it on 4th makes no difference.

In that case Tulane would be playing for the tie and I like our chances in OT. Just a thought.

Not the field goal but play calling and clock management.
We SHOULD have wasted the time, left them no chance.
Put them away. Thumbs down from the king stuff.
Sword through the chest.
DONE

You take your best shot. Line up, send Line in. Line up, send him in again. If your offensive line and blockers and a top 10 collegiate running back can't grind out less than two yards against what's possibly the worst team in D1A with a very worn out, run down, tired, gassed, under-talented defensive unit on their heels, then hand in your resignation and give back about 10 million because in year five that's a total and complete disgrace.
The FG kick and the fade route and the gross mismanagement of the clock are a 30 second indictment of the entire June tenure. This is the same coach who said I don't think about punting. Sane coach who taunted BCS programs calling them too scared to fly out to Hawai'i to get their asses kicked. Same coach who taunted Florida fans by calling Tebow a system QB. Come the heck on. Line up, and shove the rock down their throat with Line.

I think we all agree that at that point of that game, we would have lined up and run the ball 4 times to either put Tulane away or give them very little time to get down the field and in position to either tie or beat us, but given the way our D had played that 2nd half, I can understand the coaches decision. Jones said "they talked about it" so I assume the assistants were in agreement with the decision.
we have to live with it...let's move on. Beat Houston! It's been too long

Once we are inside the 5 yard line, our O-line needs to go to a three point stance to allow them to get the leverage necessary to push the line of scrimmage over the goal line. The two point stance we use does not work when the defensive box is loaded up. Does any other team use a two point stance for their O-line?
