I was so happy to see Darrian Wright on the cover page today. He has really improved as the season has progressed. Everyone may have been dazzled by that pick 6, but he also had a solid game against the run. I think we will be just fine at NT for the next few years. This is also a credit to Coach Hill and Coach Mason. This kid was a 2 star recruit.

we need to hope our young DTs mature into quality D-1 players, because this seems to be one of the toughest positions to recruit. I still wonder about taking Wimbley out of that rotation

especially when you don't even play him. If you won't use him for RB put him back on D.

I think Wimbley got in the doghouse when he asked to come out after one play in Waco. He is going to have to bark loud to get good playing time. Seeker and Dugal are playing ahead of him right now on offense. Pittman and Wright are established on defense.

I agree. He will be a solid starter for us. I posted somewhere else that he played very well against the run. He seems to be a great kid, great family. My concern that i've posted numerous times on the recruiting board is depth at DT. In fact I went out to a local high school football game to scout a dt we offered but who's committed to Arizona. Biggest recruiting need IMHO. With Calloway we seem to be doing ok with secondary/safety recruiting but very concerned about lack of quality DT recruits. 3-4 scheme might be part of it.

that one play struck me as the reason he should have stayed on the D-line; he ran what...30 yds and he was gassed?

Or think about it this way... If we needed more players at dt, wimbley would have been moved back long ago.

Reed and ayers will both be solid behind wright next year

Thanks probably true. And Wright looks solid.

Wright has become a good player and will only get better. Concerning Wimbley, I think it is a total waste of good NT talent to have this young man sitting on the bench as a running back. JJ will not even use him down on the goaline to help block for Zack. Hopefully, JJ will realize the guy is needed at NT next year. With 4.7 quickness, Wimbley could get after QBs.

I think the above comment points out the "hardheadness" of JJ which we all (even us sunshiners) abhor. Why can't we have a special offense for the goal line downs instead of "doing what we do"?

Options:
1. Zack Line up the middle.
2. QB draw behind Zack Line opening a hole as a full back.
3. Play action w/ Zack up the middle QB with ball around the end (or a pass into the end zone)
