Everyone talks about how bad a coach Brown is and how other coaches with his talent can do better. With a season and a half left to play I hope he does better but if not then no reason to say Jones is a better coach than Brown.

Anyone saying Jones is a better coach than Brown clearly hasn't seen their career records.

He doesn't coach QBs personally but he does hire the guys that do and is ultimately responsible for the production at the position as well as all others.

Mac Brown does have a better success rate of getting QB's onto regular season rosters than the self-proclaimed "QB Guru" has had............

Mac Brown is coaching at UT and as such was able to surround Gilbert with a better supporting cast so you are comparing apples to oranges. Not to say that June doesn't have many other things to criticize.

This is a really stupid thread. I have no coaching experience but give me 90 5 stars and I'll win you 10 games a year...I think it's even debatable if he's a better recruiter. One trip to the sold out orange empire and the deal is done. Certainly there is an argument to be made, but Mack couldn't do anything with our program

They were not recruiting this well before Mack got there. He put a major emphasis on recruiting. Just sayin.

Mack is a salesman, he could do wonders for this program's recruiting and image around the state. Having him as HC would give us instant credibility. June in Austin would be an epic dumpster fire, "We do what we do" would last 5 minutes down there before they'd hang him.

Where Mack was really impressive was at North Carolina. Took a putrid team and made them top 25.

UNC had no real history, resources, etc.

When we have the luxury of firing a big name coach because there are many good coaches lining up for the job, give me a call.

Just to turn this idiotic thread around, who is in a better position since we hired him? The program or June's coaching career? June will never be a HC again. We are going into a conference at least twice as good as the CUSA. I'm pretty sure June's performance at Hawaii could have gotten him a BCS job.

As bad as Gilbert has been this year, I think he showed some improvement last week against Houston. We have some dreadful opponents coming up (Memphis, So Miss) so we need to see this offense get in gear.

However, one thing we have learned is, you better be ready for the dreadful opponents. Remember Tulane !
