As I watch Bama play...

It was 38-0 deep into the 4th and Miss St. broke into the endzone to score on Bama's second string defense.... What happened after that? Nick Saban and Kirby Smart ripped into his defense's rear.... Boy I like seeing that! Can we get a little more of that with our coaches? :D (Ponyboy please don't put the Houston and Memphis games on me!!! I just like fire!)

our defense and defensive coaches aren't the problem.

I agree with that...I'm talking about that even in the event of a blow out, Saban will chew out some @$$ for a mistake.

think there's a reason Sabin can have any job he wants?

haha, I don't think June says one word to the defense the entire game, nor does he say a word to Mason. Our friends were talking about this today..

Elite teams have coaches like that - it's all about executing excellence regardless. And when you have a team full of 4 and 5 stars playing another team with similar talent (not MS State in this example) it all just comes down to who executes with more poise and who simply wants it more. Consistent excellence is a habit guys like Saban demand. Results are obvious.

Bama and Notre Dame have the 2 most intense, demanding coaches in the country and just might end up playing for the National Championship

Saban didn't even smile when they won the NC against Texas.

Well for as much as they are paying those guys they aloud to yell at them.

you shoulda seen muschamp chew out one of his players after he shoved a georgia player and picking up a personal foul. they had a slow-mo on it, was hilarious. georgia's dc also did the same to one of his players. we need some fire and emotion infused into the team when we go to the Big East

The Bama game was nice, except about 20,000 (and I mean 20,000) students left the game just prior to halftime. I wouldn't be surprised if Saban doesn't robo-call and chew on them. By the way, students at Bama are no different than SMU students. Stunts like this really chap the hides of Bama alums and fans.

the difference is that they have as many as 10-20,000 students attending the games

my kids both went to Clemson and you can generally expect about 50% of the undergraduate population to attend home football games (most stand in the endzone where Clemson runs down the hill). Would be nice if we had 3,000 students attend our games

just an entirely different culture at "football factory" schools

if the SMU community had the same enthusiasm, we would have no problem packing Ford for every home game
