Since I just realized that Time Warner does not have CBS College sports - need a recomendation on a good place to grab a beverage and watch the game with some other SMU fans who are not making it to Orlando?

1st and 10?

Barley House?

Milos?

Go to First and 10 and sit in the corner/dungeon with the other SMU second-class football fans/customers- play like you're in "time out" - while the "real" fans of other schools (like Wisconsin) enjoy the sports bar experience.

So I am taking it that:

a.) I should not go to 1st and 10

b.) First and 10 has wronged you in a major way

c.) all of the above

A few of us are going to the Spread Eagle Saloon downtown on Elm Street. Great boozer, big screen, best chicken sandwich in the City and fabulous beer selection. AND all owned by an SMU Alum.

The more, the merrier!

Time Warner has the channel (195/790HD)if you have the "Sport Pass" package which is like $6.99/mo. If you want, you can get it added via their online chat support in like 15min.

We went to 1st & 10 for the Tulane game. They didn't have the channel and only went to get laptops after our game started while doting on the fans of other games. I'm taking my business elsewhere.

I can only assume its a matter of economics as the owners are red & blue throughout. Dutch, I assume you will have the game tonight?

A few bars tried to get the game on via labtop and it was tough sledding.

But saying SMU fans are treated like 2nd class citizens is pretty silly. Its one of maybe 3 bars on this planet where you can sit surrounded by SMU fans for a game. Lord forbid the bars have to pay their bills by showing games on the actual TV with a fanbase that aren't a bunch of whiny little [deleted].

i have been to first and 10.... and while i like dutch as a message board poster, I was not a big fan of the treatment at first and 10. I actually had friends in from out of town and we left before the first half time because of the terrible service (i.e., smu fans were not getting the attention the big boy fans were getting.).

Thanks, Mustangsabu. As The owner of the Saloon I would like to extend an invitation to you PonyFans to check us out tonight for the game. I'll have it on the 110" screen with the sound on. I love my comrades at 1&10 and Barley House, but if you are willing to test out Downtown Dallas this is a good opportunity. There is a parking garage across the street for $4, or you can try finding a street spot, or just DART rail it to the Akard Station. Go Ponies!

I've been to numerous games there over the years. service is sometimes slow, but no more than any other packed sports bar on gameday. guess we've had different experiences.
