Has not proven himself as a head coach at a smaller school yet. Being a head coach and and oc are two different things in the whole scheme of the coaching caper.

Neither had Kevin Sumlin but he did well at UH and is doing well at aTm. By the way, SMU is a smaller school.

Sumlin had proved himself as a hc at a smaller school (Houston) prior to his aTm job.

Let me reword this my comment, he has not proved himself at a lower conference school.

Like I said, SMU is a lower lever school at the moment. But you have examples of Charlie Strong, Kevin Flood, Bert Bielema, Bo Pelini, Dana Holgerson, Chip Kelly, Mark Richt, James Franklin, Will Muschamp etc. All those did not go to a lower level school first.

We aren't even the smallest school in our conference. Tulsa and Rice both have a smaller enrollments.

Speaking of Tulsa, they blew the doors off Cooger High. so much for our backdoor shot at the West.

Tulsa very likely loses to UCF next week. All we gotta do is win out in that case.
