This is truly the worst CUSA I have seen since in many years. A good Texas 5A team would give Southern Miss a pretty good game. Rice should fall to SMU.

I disagree. How do you explain national championship Auburn plummeting as far as it has?

Yes and I should have expanded my argument. Auburn is that one team that's pathetic in the SEC except when they buy an all star. However CUSA has very seasonal teams that will be good one year and terrible the next. Like ucf was last year, Houston and USM this year, Memphis, utep, Tulane every year etc. This conference has horrible OOC records especially against BCS competition.

Are you saying auburn has always paid their players? Because they have been a pretty good program for a while. This year excluded, of course.

Cam Newton was the sole reason Auburn won that National Championship. And they most certainly paid for him.

Agree 100%. But that isn't the only good Auburn team in the last ten years. They were plenty good before the got him under contract.

Agreed, but that was also before Chizik became the head coach (don't think he's anything without a star player on his team).

I was just refuting 11's comments that the Cam Newton team was the only good Auburn team. That's simply a ridiculous assertion.

All about coaching. Fedora left Southern Miss that's why they've tanked.

No but that was their BCS team right?

They won the BCS in 2010 but went 13-0 in 2004 in what should have been another championship year.

2004 was so long ago, back when we had an actual president 8)
