As if we dont have enough bad news with the Ponies playing like [deleted] at Rice, this would be a huge blow to the new Big East. Have to think ACC would look for another BE team to fill Maryland's spot, most likely UConn in my opinion. Yikes.

ESPN trying to devalue the BE.

They are not just trying, they are doing a pretty good job at it.

You can keep saying that, but the BE is becoming more and more of an embarrassment.

Not surprised, but why would the Big ten expand? It doesnt make any business sense. If it does happen, its not the worst. Losing Louisy and Cincy, then yes we are dead. Im surprise a little bit they didnt try to go after Boise. That to me would shell-shock the realignment.

Well I mean, what else can they do? It's not like we'd stay in the BE if the Big 12 came calling. I think they've got to pursue BYU and Air Force ASAP- two schools with name recognition and national followings.

They have TV negotiations coming up again in 2017. Adding Rutgers and Maryland gives them the NYC and DC TV markets to sell.

Possibly but neither school really has a national following, even in those markets. It would be better for them to get the west coast and southern area.

I don't know about Rutgers, but Maryland has a pretty sizable following in the DC area. Also, the Big Ten is big on adding teams in contiguous states to their current membership. MD and NJ both border Pennsylvania.

If they do this the Big Ten is officially a joke.

What needs to happen is sign a TV deal irregardless of getting an extra 2-3 million. Get NBC in and get in now. Lock the teams up with 50 million and media rights signed over. Voila stability. Sitting here is causing whatever loyalty to die and probably already has in some board rooms.

Absolutely not ECU nor Fresno. I take the best of the Sun belt.

Its nice to see that this board still has its token idiot.
I guess this is a nice distraction from the Rice thread.
