What ucla did was bring in a highly motivated HC. I enjoyed watching the game from the Rose Bowl. I wish we had such a coach. I only hope SMU cans jj. He brought us up, but i am now done with him. Time for SMU to find a Mora type coach.

Go Ponies!!

UCLA-Find 4 young Assistant Coaches who are great recruiters and played in or grew up in Los Angeles. SMU find 5 old assistant coaches from Hawaii who don't recruit at all. UCLA is going to cash in Big Time now especially with USC suffering from probation for next 3 years

Instead, we got a 60+ guy who couldn't spell the word recruit, and apparently can't get his 5 offensive lineman to learn the snap count.

BS. The OL has played much better this season than anybody had any reason to expect.

What does age have to do with it anyway? That is a ridiculous cheap shot. Look at Kansas State.

Our offensive line has had numerous mental lapses and an incredible inability to refrain from committing infractions that defy logic. Also, he does not recruit. it's that simple. Deal with it.

Also, far be it for me to define your vocabulary, but I'd be hard pressed to define criticism of someone's professional performance as a ridiculous cheap shot. Maybe I'm old fashioned.

Sorry if there was a misunderstanding, but I took the age part of it as a cheap shot. A 70 year old can obviously recruit better than a 40 year old if he wants to. It's a matter of trying.

I have no idea who "recruits". If you have some inside information and travel itineraries and phone records then I humbly defer to your expertise.

But, like I said earlier, the OL has played much better this season than anybody expected. Of course, they haven't been perfect and they have had some serious meltdowns. Anybody can see that.

It also doesn't take a genius to realize Palcic is coaching Klemm's recruits and Klemm is coaching Palcic's recruits - but if you hate Palcic you will hate Palcic no matter what anybody says.

Personally, I have been extremely impressed with the job he has done this season based on the preseason expectations.

But but but, he coached 3 Outland winners and has 30+ years experience. Our line will be so much better without Klemm.

This thread has gotten silly. I am not sure any of you saw the game. The ucla line was plenty porous at times, and had their fair share of bad penalties too. Both coaches are pretty good. Giv what I have seen out of ucla in the past, I know Palcic is a very able coach. However, I do have to wonder about his committment to recruiting for SMU. That point is totally arguable.

Go Ponies!!
