recruiting had nothing to do with losses at tulane and rice...

I dont think anyone has ever questioned Stallion's premise that better recruiting= more wins. It's not like Stallion has gone out on a limb here.

Maybe not on paper..but we all saw the game...Rice looked bigger, more physical, had better team speed.

Player for player, based on this game...rice had better athletes....

SMU had better players than Rice. SMU just got out-coached.

If we beat Tulsa, it would only prove JJ has the talant to go 9 and 3 or better.
tcu, tulane, rice plus tulsa.

Agreed GU and I think in hindsight JJ would have preferred it as well. Let the assistants to all the work, he could sit back and take all the glory. I do think that he is a good coach. Our recent success in getting players into the NFL proves this. He is just to d*mn stubborn.

yes, correct. You would think he would hire some bad a s s staff but his loyalty to his contacts and buddies will do him in on this job. Let the assistants kick some butt on the recruiting trails and then coach them up. Common sense - Just absurd. In retrospect, he sure lucked out with ER, AR, Beez, and Shawnbrey.

june is a good coach based on what? He has only beaten cup cakes while at SMU. most of the NFL guys are Bennett's -
