back from rice

Post by ALEX LIFESON »

Just got home from that place in Houston that we call the "house of pain". Listening to the Rice radio network leaving the stadium, their radio people, players, and coaches, all made comments how they were more physical than SMU. While I have to agree, it also looked like we may have "spit the bit" in the 4th quarter. Blown out by Rice?....Rice? really? Rice???

We spit the bit often after facing deficits, it's just what we do.

Alex- at what point do you change your avatar and signature? I left the sinking ship a few weeks ago.

Herman is a sinking ship that sunk but you still have him as your avatar.

Wish I could take credit, but someone else thought it up. I humbly suggest:

At what point did all the SMU fans bail?

Hate to say it, but I am glad I did not go down to see that load.

Herman had sunk when I made this my avatar. It's supposed to be ironic. I wouldn't expect you to be able to understand the irony, though.

I though you had it up before he sunk. Anyway, Alex can be ironical as well.

Quite frankly I wanted JJ to succeed because I wanted SMU to succeed. Moreover, we have had way to many changes of the guard. Winning at SMU is not easy. However, thats why we pay the coach. On a personal basis, I allowed JJ to recruit as he saw fit (nobody can find a complaint from me) and coach as he saw fit (dito). From my perspective, JJ's only criteria is WIN. This year our team has played below their potential. We have lost two games that we should have won. And, the Rice game was a 'must win' - not one that can be explained away by the team wasn't fired up or by the game being close and we got the 'bad bounce'. The buck stops at JJ's desk. I hope we win next week. But, changes must be made and the buck stops at JJ's desk.
