So, we have played all three of the other ex SWC private schools and have been schooled by all three. This is not a new phenom. It is an identifiable trend.

Is there any better example of why we need a change of direction? I will never understand why all three can outperform us consistently and people find that ok.

I don't think anyone on Ponyfans finds it acceptable.

We brag about our facilities, campus, stadium, and city. Yet we are out recruited in Waco. Okay, I know that they are in a better conference, but that suggests to me that all the stuff we (as fans) love isn't that important to recruits.

The BB forum had a great quote about LB: He's made SMU "cool."

It's that intangible factor that recruits like. LB has "it." JJ either doesn't or doesn't know how to market "it".

Either way, not acceptable.

JJ has "it" his ego is just to big to realize that he needs help from people like Klemm to sell it.

Franklin has made Vandy "cool" too. They are now THE football school in the state of Tennessee. Who would have ever thunk it?

Not only did the 3 privates school us but the f-aggies gave us a sound butt-whipping as well..
Not very impressive when the best you can do is beat one out of five of your former conference mates.

It so sad when your school has nothing really to be proud for. I mean you can say we whooped Houston... they lost to a previous FCS team this year... Its also sad that Ive been rooting and debating my 2nd favorite team (aggies) than even mention our team. People are kind to ask how SMU is doing, and I usually just say same as always. Win one lose one or two..

It's even sadder that the admin. is either totally clueless or just doesn't care about having athletic programs that are anything better than poor-to-mediocre.

Both. The Death Penalty did more than shut us down, it snuffed out any competitive spirit this school had for their mainstream sports.

Exactly and since they didnt properly punish Perv State. They should be paying us for their ridiculous punishment. They know they destroyed a tiny school and they could care less.
