Not good pub for recruiting in the Dallas area for sure.

Basically said that SMU may have left a better conference in CUSA for what will be leftover in the BE after Rutgers, UConn, and probably UL and Cincy leave.

True but he was throwing out all sorts of conjecture. UL, cincy and byu to big 12? Don't think so. If the ACC takes only UConn then I think the BE can survive for the time being.

Lots of instability again. There can only be so many more shifts left. At some point the Big 1G, the Big XII, the Big SEC, the Big PAC, are going to expand to the point that you end up with the problems that beset the WAC 16. Everyone will want to play Nebraska, Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Penn State. Why, because they travel so well. No one will want Northwestern, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, MSU, Purdue, Minnesota, Rutgers and Maryland because they don't travel well. Start seeing lots of empty seats at a Minnesota/Maryland game or a Purdue/Rutgers game and the griping will start.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Conference realignment is not about attendance. It is about television and has been for twenty years.

Partly right, but it's mainly about the numbers of eyes that are viewing those television sets (rating) and those advertisers that spend the big bucks to advertise on those highly rated shows. That's the reason the Big East still wants Boise St. But someone tell me where in all of that does Memphis fit in?

I don't know how norm could think that cusa would be better than dead BE. I mean Indy would be better than joining back with cusa. If any of us go back it admits defeat and we will never ever get to be in the BCS. We won't, it just won't be possible. I'm sure Boise sees that or at least I hope they do. That one spot they are playing for will that really get them there. My gut says no. They need to play the best of the non AQ and schedule OOC well in hopes to make an entry.

I feel if the big east survives and we somehow make it to the big boys group. There needs to be a documentary. We are like the freaking colonies and everyone is just trying to rip us apart. Our only George Washington in this is Aresco and he needs to make that tuning point entry soon with a great deal. For some reason I feel he's pulling an Obama, and he just decided to golf rather than work

The real concern is the long-term sustainability of the football program. The athletic department was counting on a big check for that Big East TV deal. You can kiss that goodbye now. You have to wonder how much longer the university can subsidize a financial black hole like our football program.

i think it is waaaay premature to say you can kiss that TV money goodbye. not saying it didnt take a value hit - but it wont be too hard to beat CUSA money - 1.5 M?

any combination of remaining teams beats what we were facing by staying in CUSA

The market needs content. Its that simple.

I'd say for full members we will be lucky to see 4-5M a year.

Even if we get only 4.5 million, its a start, and its something to build on. With so much shifting, especially after they claim it will stop after ND finally got its spot, whos to say with the right coach 5 mil under our belts that we cant go after a big conference. I can see giving up if we joined back with CUSA
