Just curious.

From what I understand June said about recruiting and academics last night SMU is in trouble. At least under his tenure here.

Said SMU can't get the same recruits that the "big boy" schools get. Didn't mention that he & his staff are too lazy to actually try and recruit the same kids.

Stop rethreading from CP

SMU does offer many of the Best Recruits, but none of them accept. We offered Johnny Manziel as an example. This doesn't mean we can't do a better job recruiting because we could, but SMU also lost Dee Paul because of what he described as SMUs poor attendance. I have been saying for years that SMU people need to understand that they have got to put money into improving our fan base and going to work at it in order to build a quality program.

There is a huge difference between sending a potential recruit an offer letter and actually making contact and trying to really recruit him. We have recruits who have committed and then don't hear from the coaches again. Our recruiting sucks because none of the coaches make any effort to contact/build relationships with the h.s. coaches.

Dee Paul said what a socially astute kid would say. What he meant to say was that SMU got their [deleted] beat by teams they should have dominated with their eyes closed, barefoot, uphill, in the snow. Yes, we all need the attendance needs to get 1000 times better, but that is not the initial cause of us losing recruits. And we all know it.

This tired old fraud can't get out of here soon enough.
