I assume they opened up the playbook very slowly with him, so he had a chance to absorb some of it, rather than throwing everything at him and running the risk of overwhelming him. Look at what the Redskins are doing with Griffin: one read and throw to one of two receivers. It's not like the Skins are asking him to master a whole lot. They're easing him so he can learn, rather than giving him more than he can handle. Dolphins are doing the same with Tannehill. Colts are the exception with Luck, who is making lots of reads on many plays. That's the guy who doesn't play like a rookie. Looks like it was the right thing to do with Gilbert, too, since he has played better lately, especially with the way he takes care of the ball.

You can't be serious. He has a former player who is on the New England practice squad and he got the hat when Sterling Moore was in the Super Bowl. He's proud of a former player, and it's a former SMU player, and in the grand scheme of things, it's a hat at a practice. Who cares? I'm glad he's proud of the former SMU guys who have gone on to the NFL. I know I am.
