Question: Does our coach put absolutely any effort in preparing for the Dallas bowl game, if we go? That might change my answer.

If you're talking about playing a Big 10 team in the
REAL Cotton Bowl game, and I mean
the one that is actually played in the Cotton Bowl.
That would be better than playing San Jose St. or some other WAC team in the Hawaii Bowl for
the long term good of the program.
Up to the team to decide, they deserve what they want

Well if we are going to see what the team deserves, then it's the mediocre Hawaii now for the mediocre team. If we want to look good in front of the big boys for our long term goals then the Dallas bowl is your path.

Oh well, I finished a
MEDIOCRE over 4 hour plus just a little bit time in the full
26.2 1985 Cowtown Marathon.
It took TCU 15 years after Sullivan to beat UT where ever, but it was in Austin

Times have changed. If we did this back in 2000 great. Right now there is a window that could seal us out of relevancy and we need to look golden every year when the last of conference (division) realignment happens. We have next year and the year after to try to prove to the rest of the community we belong is real time football. Yes the admin at SMU waited too long to try to improve but these are cards we are dealt with and we need to make the best play for the program. We need a BCS conference to be relevant again. If Aresco doesn't get a tv deal done, we might be screwed anyways. Maybe that's why we are leaving JJ in to make sure the money is worth it. Division 2 football doesn't need to pay coaches much.

Haha 2or 3? Nah I wish that would be an achievement with everything I've accomplished lol. Nevertheless, with tech (TV money) the stakes are much higher

For the kids - Hawaii Bowl, for the fans - Dallas. Why because we're SMU fans and don't want to go anywhere far away to support our team. That would be too much to ask.

That is a ridiculous statement. Our fans supported the team in Birmingham for the BBVA Bowl.

I agree with mustangxc. My wife and I spent a bundle traveling to the Hawaii Bowl last time and just cannot swing it again so soon. We will go anywhere in the continental U.S. however, for a bowl game.

its not that it is far. Its that it is is on Christmas eve. You cant get back to your home in time for Christmas. That rules out anyone with a family.
If it was even one day earlier then it would be fine, but 90% of us our out due to the date.
We had a great showing in Birmingham to a pretty average bowl.

Flights are now $1000 per person and you are staying in one of the most expensive places to stay in the world...Hawaii for X-mas is a pretty big deal.
