Just to put the facts on the table.
Preseason #1
Ends the season losing to arch rival Notre Dame with a record of 7 -5.
Projected to go to the "Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl" to play Navy.
No Heisman for Barkley, Woods, or Lee!
Losses to Stanford, Oregon, Arizona, UCLA and Notre Dame.
Anybody have thoughts about this catastrophe?

Who said their future was not brighter than ours? I did not see SMU mentioned in his post at all.

Of course they are a signature program.
7 Heisman's minus one (Reggie Push).
But ... they still had a total collapse.

They got absolutely punked by ND at home. Twice inside the 5 and only got 3 points. Pretty embarrassing night to be a Trojan.

No question that the season was a failure. The reasons are numerous (
http://espn.go.com/blog/pac12/post/_/id ... ost-season) and will need to be addressed soon. I don't expect Kiffin to be fired, but a failure like this requires all options to be considered. Ultimately I expect Kiffin to return, but see changes in the coahcing staff.
As for the bowl game, obviously the selections aren't final but Las Vegas may choose them before SF gets a shot.

No depth. They will be back in few years when they get all their scholarships back.

I am not trying to make a comparison between USC and SMU.
That would be impossible.
I am stating that they have failed this year!

Yeah, what a dumpster fire. Kiffin is a joke. Barkley really cost himself by returning for his senior season. That program is in trouble- the scholarship restrictions start this year I believe, they're going to have depth issues for years to come- not to mention UCLA, Stanford, and Oregon are establishing themselves as the power players in the conference

Once USC has all these little annoying restrictions remove they will slap the other PAC schools around without much challenge. Where would you rather go to school California, Oregon or Washington? Not hard. Which school has the best overall demeanor? Sure it sucks now but it just gives the other schools a chance to see what it's like to be on top.
