Cincinnati desperately seeking ACC bid

My question is: Why don't we at least make a preemptive attempt and try to get an ACC invite over Cincinnati? I know it is probably a long shot at best, but why not pull out all the stops a this point? Since when does Cincinnati really have more to offer than SMU as a total package (see other threads about what some believe we bring to the table)?

Does anyone know if GT or Hart are exploring things with the ACC? Would be nice to know that our new AD is being proactive. Just hearing crickets so far and that Poolane is going to pee in our cornflakes.

Be patient. The ACC is on the brink of collapse.

The Samuri speaks truth...

Always remember....BE has NYC media (if at least for BB)

I'm pretty sure both conferences will implode. I think ACC (if they lose bunch of teams) will invite most BE teams. Thus BE becomes the top non-BCS schools and we basically get to be the wait in line conference for future bids

actually, the ACC is just becoming the new big east. Have you forgotten they previoulsy took BC, Va Tech and Miami...before Pitt and Syracuse? They now have their pick from among the strongest remaining programs in the former Big East...and let's not forget the association with Notre Dame going forward.

ACC will be fine.

Big East is the new hybrid that might as well be called CUSA

Right. This is what envision, too. I think it behooves us either way to make a case to them for SMU joining. Why sit back and just assume we're not the prettiest girl in the room?
